Flying Cut-Off For Panel Line

Speed and accuracy are key components to the success of any flying cut off panel line when considering its performance.  Samco’s flying shear with cut off die accurately cuts parts to any desired length while the operation is in continuous motion.  The cut-off action is extremely fast with this application.  High speed and high volumes are achieved increasing overall through put.

For example, Samco’s flying cut offs can provide a line speed of 230ft/min that can cut the work piece in milliseconds and return to the home position, running an efficient line with high output. By using hydraulic double ended rods and a combination of linkage type presses, this will help minimize the press cutting time (see Samco’s flying panel line).  As a result, the entire cycle repeats itself about 28 times per minute. With careful consideration to areas in cycle time and accelerating a large mass to the high speed you can still accomplish the cut accuracy of about +/- 0.8mm. Note that this is a closed loop system with a servo motor drive, which receives constant feedback from a roll former encoder and corrects the cut accuracy.

SamSamco’s flying cut off panel line provides you with the benefits of increased production, improved accuracy, minimized downtime, cut down maintenance/service costs and streamline operations.  Flying cut offs meet the high production demands of today’s manufacturing industry and produce very accurate parts at high speeds.  Producing consistent quality results can be performed regardless of the experience and skill level of the machine operator.

flying-cut-off-panel-roll-formerThere are benefits to investing in a closed loop flying cut off for your panel line. Although these units are more expensive, investing in capital equipment right from the start can help bring overall costs down in the long run. Generally, panel lines are designed to run stop-and-go. But with flying cut off presses, continuous movement throughout the entire process flow reduces downtime significantly and increases throughput. Speed and accuracy are key components to the success of any flying cut off panel line when considering its performance.

Benefits include:

  • Increased production and improved accuracy
  • Minimized downtime, Reduced maintenance/service costs
  • Streamlined operations
  • Optimal results achieved regardless of experience or skill level of the machine operator
  • Long term investment

Retrofit

We can retro fit any attachments to your existing machine. When budget simply can’t meet the purchasing of new equipment, retrofitting is a viable solution and provides add-on features to improve and upgrade your existing equipment for optimal product performance and production.  For example, if you are looking to upgrade speed range and/or energy efficient and accuracy capabilities, these are all features that are possible to add to your existing unit.  We can assist you in choosing the best retrofit options to suit your project needs and existing line.  We can provide custom fittings for any brand.
